The 2024 Nissan Frontier gets a $200 markup across a lineup that remains unchanged except for a new Hardbody Edition celebrating the midsize truck’s history in the U.S. At the top of the line is a new SL crew cab with four-wheel drive, and a range-topping price of $43,975, Nissan announced Thursday.
The base Frontier S extended cab with rear-wheel drive costs $31,105, including a $1,335 destination fee. That’s $200 more than last year’s model, and $2,100 more than when the midsize truck was redesigned for the 2022 model year.
That’s in line with competitors such as the Chevrolet Colorado, but it’s $3,000 less than the redesigned 2024 Ford Ranger.
Every Frontier comes with a 3.8-liter V-6 that makes 310 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque. A 9-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels. Adding four-wheel drive costs $3,200 on extended cab models that come only with a 6-foot bed.
Standard features include an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7.0-inch digital display in the instrument cluster, 16-inch steel wheels, LED exterior lighting, keyless entry, cruise control, and power windows and locks.
Automatic emergency braking is standard. Additional active-safety items come in the Technology package, with blind-spot monitors, automatic high beams, rear emergency braking, lane-departure warnings, and adaptive cruise control all for a reasonable $990.
The 2024 Frontier S crew cab costs $1,300 more than the extended cab to start at $32,405 this year, and it comes with the shorter 5-foot bed.
The SV grades cost $2,700 more than S models and it adds nicer cloth upholstery, a power driver’s seat, 16-inch alloy wheels, power side mirrors, and body color exterior trim. SV crew cab models come with a 5-foot bed standard at $35,205, or it can be had with a 6-foot bed for $2,830 more.
The 2024 Frontier Pro-X crew cab model with off-road upgrades and the 5-foot bed costs $37,635. Included in the upgrade are Bilstein shocks, 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, an electronic locking rear differential, and more skid plates.
2024 Nissan Frontier Hardbody Edition
Honoring the D21 Hardbody from the 1980s, long before there was a Frontier, this SV crew cab 4×4 sports retro three-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels, all-terrain tires, a front skid plate, a bed-mounted sport bar, mud flaps, and black exterior accents with gaudy retro graphics such as “4×4” logos on the front doors.
It adds $3,890 to the SV crew cab with the 5-foot bed to a total of $38,205.
The new SL grade tops the Frontier range for 2024, replacing the outgoing SV Premium Package. It packages popular options such as LED headlights, fog lights, a sunroof, remote start, leather upholstery and heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel, plus 120-volt AC outlets in the bed and console and a 10-speaker Fender audio system.
It costs $40,975 with rear-wheel drive, or $43,975 with four-wheel drive.
