2025 Infiniti QX60 says goodbye to V-6, hello to turbo-4

  • The updated 2025 Infiniti QX60 goes on sale in July
  • 2025 Infiniti QX60s swap the V-6 for a turbo-4
  • The 2025 Infiniti QX60 costs $50,200

The 2025 Infiniti QX60 starts sales this month with an MSRP of $50,200. That makes it $550 more expensive than the previous year, but some changes have been made, which to some buyers, may warrant the increase.

Key among the changes is a new standard powertrain. Infiniti has replaced the QX60’s aging 3.5-liter V-6 with a 2.0-liter turbo-4. The engine is Infiniti’s VC-Turbo design, which can alter its compression ratio to suit high efficiency or high performance, depending on the driving situation.

The engine is down on power compared to the old V-6, in this case 268 hp versus 295 hp, but Infiniti said efficiency is up, though the automaker hasn’t released any mileage figures. The EPA is also yet to rate the vehicle.

The current 9-speed automatic carries over, and towing capacity is also unchanged, Infiniti has confirmed. The maximum rating is 6,000 pounds, when properly equipped.

The new model year also includes a redesign for the three-row midsize crossover’s key fob. It now has an option for the vehicle to automatically lock or unlock as the key holder approaches or walks away from it. Infiniti has also made its Black Edition design package available.

Buyers can choose from the four grades Pure, Luxe, Sensory, and Autograph. Front-wheel drive is standard on all grades apart from the Autograph which features all-wheel drive as standard. All-wheel drive is a $2,000 option on the other grades.

The base Pure grade is generously equipped, with features like leather trim, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto all standard. A set of 18-inch wheels with all-season tires is also standard.

Buyers stepping up to the Luxe grade or above can opt for the new Black Edition package which for $1,900 adds 20-inch wheels finished in gloss black, plus gloss black for the roof rails, grille surround, and badging. For the interior, there’s illuminated door sill plates and a black headliner.

Some electronic driver-assist features are included as standard, including handy items like forward and rear automatic braking, plus blind spot and lane departure warning. Other features buyers may want to add include a surround-view camera with moving object detection, and Infiniti’s ProPilot semi-automated driving system for highways.
