2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee carries over, costs $38,830

Stellantis this week announced pricing for the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The midsize SUV carries over into the new model year unchanged, although some versions are a little cheaper than the 2024 models.

Laredo 4WD models get a $1,000 price cut, but the base Laredo with rear-wheel drive costs slightly more at $38,830, including the $1,795 destination fee. Limited ($44,700), Overland ($58,790), and Summit ($60,355) trim levels sit above the Laredo. Four-wheel drive adds $2,000 to the Laredo and Limited models, but is standard on Overland and Summit models.

The 3-row Grand Cherokee L is also still available in the same spread of trim levels, priced $2,000 above equivalent 2-row models.

Both the 2-row Grand Cherokee and the Grand Cherokee L are powered by a 3.6-liter V-6 producing 293 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, and connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The optional mechanical four-wheel drive system continues to give the Grand Cherokee more off-road capability than most competitors. A 5.7-liter V-8 was previously available, but it was quietly discontinued near the end of the 2024 model year.

Instead, buyers looking for more power have to opt for the Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid. It combines a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine with a two-motor hybrid system for 370 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, with standard four-wheel drive. Jeep doesn’t offer the 4xe in the base Laredo grade and, at $62,285 with destination, the least-expensive Limited is priced $15,585 higher than a non-hybrid Limited 2-row with four-wheel drive.

Jeep also doesn’t make a Grand Cherokee L 4xe, but the Trailhawk off-road grade is exclusive to the plug-in hybrid—and priced at $67,980. Overland and Summit grades are also available, priced at $75,275 and $76,465 respectively.

The current Jeep Grand Cherokee, known as the WL series, was introduced in 3-row L form for the 2021 model year, with the 2-row version following for 2022. A mid-cycle refresh is expected for the 2026 model year, potentially adopting the Hurricane turbo-6 already used in the larger Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, as well as the Ram 1500 pickup truck.
