The 2025 Kia EV9 electric three-row crossover SUV gets a $700 price increase for its second model year, but only for one configuration.
Kia on Tuesday announced pricing that starts at $56,225 (including a mandatory $1,325 destination charge) for the single-motor Light Standard Range with a 76.1-kwh battery pack. That’s the same price as last year. The $700 price increase only applies to the Light Long Range model, which has the larger 99.8-kwh that’s standard on all other EV9 grades.
The price of other models remains the same. The $65,225 EV9 Wind adds a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain that also powers Land and GT-Line grades for $71,225 and $73,900, respectively.
Light Long Range models now come standard with a first-row sunroof, while the Relaxation Seat Package is no longer available on Land models. Glacial Light Pearl and Ebony Black paint options are now available, while Ivory Silver Gloss, Ivory Silver Matte, and Ocean Blue Matte have been discontinued, along with the Dark Gray and Navy interior options for GT-Line models.
Seating up to seven passengers, the all-electric EV9 boasts up to 304 miles of range in Light Long Range form. The base Light Standard Range with the smaller pack has 230 miles of range, while most dual-motor models are rated at 280 miles. That drops to 270 miles on the GT-Line thanks to its larger wheels, but this model also gets a boost in torque from 443 lb-ft to 516 lb-ft that allows for a 5.0-second 0-60 mph time.
The EV9 earned top honors as The Car Connection Best Car To Buy 2024 in its first model year, and also earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick award later in the 2024 model year after Kia made changes to the headlight aim. The highest Top Safety Pick+ award remains out of reach until the EV9 completes an updated front crash test that measures the impact on second-row passengers in a head-on collision.
