2025 Nissan Rogue adds Rock Creek edition, hands-free driving

For those about to rock, Nissan salutes the 2025 Rogue compact crossover with its off-road Rock Creek trim, the brand announced Monday. Its bestseller will also debut the latest upgrades to the brand’s hands-free driving system, dubbed ProPilot Assist 2.1. 

The 2025 Nissan Rogue Rock Creek follows the path blazed by the three-row Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek that launched in 2020. It joins a regiment of off-roading trims that have also been described as “soft-roaders” for the mainly cosmetic upgrades. Such soft-roaders typically lack enhancements such as a locking rear differential or a 2-speed transfer case.

When it goes on sale late this summer, the Rogue Rock Creek will come standard with all-wheel drive with hill-descent control and 235/65 Wild Peak all-terrain tires wrapped on 17-inch black wheels. Gloss black extends to the grille, sideview mirrors, and a totally tubular roof rack with red accents. The ground clearance of 8.2 inches remains the same as other models. Additional hardware includes a 12-volt outlet in the cargo area, and a surround-view camera system with an off-road view that stays on up to 12 mph. Nissan covers the upholstery in water-repellent synthetic leather, adds red contrast stitching, and heats the front seats. 

Rogue Rock Creek competitors range from the Subaru Forester Wilderness to the Honda Passport TrailSport, Kia Sportage X-Pro, and Hyundai Tucson XRT, among others. 

Pricing for the Rogue Rock Creek and all 2025 Nissan Rogue will be announced later this summer before it goes on sale. The Pathfinder Rock Creek builds off the SV trim, and we expect that to extend to the Rogue. An available Premium Package for the Rogue Rock Creek adds comforts such as a wireless smartphone charger, a heated steering wheel, and a hands-free tailgate.

Refreshed for 2024, the Nissan Rogue carries over its 1.5-liter turbo-3 that makes 201 hp and 225 lb-ft of torque. Together with a CVT and standard front-wheel drive, it’s about as efficient as a compact crossover can be without electrification, rating at 33 mpg combined. 

Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, and blind-spot monitors. The S, SV, and Rock Creek trims come with an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while Rogue SL and Platinum upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in and wireless smartphone charging. 

Nissan debuts ProPilot Assist 2.1 on 2025 Rogue

Top trims of the 2025 Rogue can be equipped with the brand’s latest hands-free driver-assist system, Nissan ProPilot Assist 2.1. As long as the driver attention monitor detects the driver’s eyes on the road, the system will allow for hands-free driving on single-lane freeways. Two other lesser levels of ProPilot can be equipped on the Rogue, including ProPilot Assist standard on SV and Rock Creek models that provides some steering when adaptive cruise control is set, enabling hands-free driving for 15-20 seconds, or so. 

Another tech upgrade on the 2025 Rogue is a more robust surround-view camera system with a rotating 3D view. A wider front view captures a 176-degree view, Nissan says, and an “Invisible Hood View” captures what’s under the front end.
