Subaru’s BRZ sports car enters the 2025 model year with few changes, but it still sees a substantial price increase.
The 2025 BRZ is due at showrooms early next year and will carry a starting price of $32,265, including a $1,170 destination charge. That’s $950 more expensive than the 2024 model whose own price increased $1,700 from the prior year’s model.
The only change for the 2025 model year is the addition of a Sport mode as standard on models equipped with a manual transmission. The mode delivers sharper throttle response, Subaru said.
The 2025 BRZ range includes the base Premium model, mid-range Limited, and STI-enhanced tS flagship. All of them come with a 2.4-liter flat-4 engine rated at 228 hp and powering the rear wheels only. The engine is paired as standard with a 6-speed manual transmission but can be equipped with a 6-speed automatic in the Limited which starts at $34,915 with the manual and $35,765 with the automatic.
The 0-60 mph time is about six seconds with the manual and seven seconds with the automatic.
Standard features include a Torsen limited-slip differential, LED headlights, 17-inch wheels, a 7.0-inch digital gauge cluster, a leather steering wheel, red accent stitching, and a stability control system with a Track mode. Part of the digital gauge cluster includes a customizable meter that can display amps, coolant temperature, or lateral g forces. When the Track mode is selected, the tachometer switches from a conventional circular design to a linear graph.
For the infotainment there’s a standard 8.0-inch touchscreen, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Standard electronic driver-assist features include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warnings.
The tS was a new addition to the lineup for 2024, with its name signifying it as a “tuned by STI” model. It features mild performance tweaks including upgraded suspension with Hitachi dampers, Brembo brakes, and 18-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, as well as some exterior accents. For 2025 it starts at $37,415.
