2025 Toyota Crown price bumped $1,090, Nightshade model added

Toyota announced a $1,090 price increase for the 2025 Toyota Crown this week, and it introduced a blacked-out Nightshade model. 

The high-riding sedan with the standard hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive starts at $42,535, including a $1,095 destination fee. That’s $1,090 more than the 2024 Toyota Crown, which apparently will be short-lived. The 2025 Toyota Crown is on sale now. 

The price increase is offset by more standard features on the base XLE, including a heated steering wheel as well as heated and cooled front seats. The successor to the discontinued Toyota Avalon comes well-equipped with technology and convenience features such as a 12.3-inch digital gauge display, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as wireless smartphone charging.

All Toyota Crowns come with driver-assist features such as automatic emergency braking, active lane control, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitors, and a rear-seat reminder system. 

Riding taller and stretching longer than the redesigned 2025 Toyota Camry, which now also comes only as a hybrid model, the 2025 Crown pairs a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with front and rear motors to provide 236 hp, all-wheel drive, and 41 mpg combined. The top Platinum model uses Toyota’s sportier Hybrid Max powertrain rated at 340 hp from its 2.4-liter turbo-4 and front and rear motor system. It drops to 30 mpg with its full-time all-wheel-drive system. 

The Platinum tops the lineup at $56,085, up $1,620 from the 2024 model year. It has a newly standard head-up display.

The $47,045 Limited grade remains the same in price and content, with leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, heated rear seats, and a JBL 11-speaker sound system.

2025 Toyota Crown Nightshade Edition

Like other models in Toyota’s lineup, the Nightshade Edition blacks out the exterior trim elements and supersizes the wheels for a more sporting look. It has black door handles, a black accented grille, black mirror caps, and darkened 21-inch 10-spoke wheels. Building off the Limited’s content, the Nightshade costs $49,860 and has a surround-view camera system as well as a limited hands-free driving system operable at low speeds.
