Hyundai is recalling the 2026 Palisade for another seat issue, this time involving the third-row driver-side seat belt assemblies. Passengers could damage the internal wiring when pulling on the buckle, which could cause the warning light to indicate a false latch.
The recall affects 46,787 2026 Palisade SUVs, but only the Limited and Calligraphy trims. According to the recall report, Hyundai first learned about a potential issue in January and began its investigation into the cause. The automaker suspected the wiring and decided earlier this month to issue a recall.
Hyundai says it is aware of five reports of vehicles with the defect. It is unaware of any fires, injuries, fatalities, or crashes related to the issue. The automaker will fix the defect by replacing the internal wiring harness, which is 4.3 inches longer. Service techs could also replace the seat belt buckle assembly, if necessary.

Last week, Hyundai had to issue a recall for the SUV following the death of a young child in Ohio. The Palisade Limited and Calligraphy models have second- and third-row seats that may not detect an occupant or object during certain powered seat functions, which could cause injuries or worse.
This recall affects 61,093 vehicles. Outside of the single death, the automaker said it is aware of four reports of injuries and 20 field claims related to the defect.
The automaker is still working on a permanent fix for the issue and is urging owners to use caution when operating the second- and third-row power seat functions. It is still determining the root cause and, in the interim, will issue an update to the power seat control software to mitigate the risk of injury.
Motor1’s Take: Big, three-row SUVs like the Palisade are designed for families who care a lot about safety and quickly fixing these recalls will matter. The Palisade was all-new for 2026, receiving updating styling inside and out, more technology, and new powertrains.
