2027 Ram TRX Revealed: Now With 777 Horsepower

  • The 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 delivers 777-hp and 680 pound-feet of torque.
  • The 2027 Ram SRT TRX starting price is $102,290.
  • Bilstein e2 Blackhawk shocks provide 13.0 inches of front and 14.0 inches of rear travel.
  • Ram says the 2027 TRX goes on sale in the latter half of 2026.

The moment Ram announced the return of the Hemi V-8, we all knew what would follow. No one questioned the TRX’s return; it’s just been a question of when.

Today, we have the answer to that question. The Ram TRX is back in the lineup, and you can buy one later this year. Here are all the details.

An Even More Powerful TRX

Ram re-alives the TRX in line with the return of the SRT performance division. The official name for this pickup is the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX. And it’s one heck of a return as the TRX now delivers 777 horsepower from its supercharged V-8 mill.

Lift the hood, and you’ll find a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8. It produces 680 pound-feet of torque, and Ram claims a 0-60 mph sprint in just 3.5 seconds. Beyond that, the rest of the TRX’s setup is familiar to fans of the previous model.

An eight-speed automatic transmission meters out the power and sends it out through a full-time active four-wheel-drive system. There’s a two-speed transfer case for times when the terrain turns tricky, or you can pop the truck into Baja Mode to force 75 percent of available torque to the rear wheels.

Ram once again employs the rather brilliant Bilstein e2 Blackhawk shocks. These are active adaptive bouncy bits that constantly monitor and adjust both rebounding and compression damping rates. Like the Fox Live Valve shocks, the Bilsteins know if you’ve gone full send and are now airborne, and will compensate so that the landing doesn’t wreck your spine—or your truck.

The 2027 TRX boasts the same off-road credentials as its predecessor. Up front, you have 13.0 inches of suspension travel, while there’s 14.0 inches of rear axle travel. That rear axle is a Dana 60 and features an electronic rear locker. Ram says the TRX has 11.8 inches of ground clearance.

On the outside, the 2027 TRX is familiar, albeit with a few fresh touches. Ram only offers this truck in the Crew Cab and Short Bed configurations. The TRX sits 2.0 inches higher, and the body is 8.0 inches wider overall compared to a 1500 Rebel.

A set of 18.0-inch satin-black wheels is standard kit and likely barely clears the 15.0-inch front and rear brake rotors. Take a look at the badges, though, as those are definitely new—from the SRT badge to the T-Rex, the 2027 TRX ups the aggression.

Ram outfits the TRX cabin rather nicely—both front seats pack heating, ventilation, and massage functionality. The center screen runs 14.5 inches, the digital driver display sits at 12.3 inches, and there’s a large 10.0-inch head-up display. TRX buyers also get a 19-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system. All of this is standard, which helps explain the starting price.

How Much?

The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX has a starting price tag of $102,290. Ram says it will land on dealer lots sometime in the latter half of 2026.

There’s already a special version prepped and ready as well: the Bloodshot Night Edition. The TRX Bloodshot wears dual-tone black and red paint, features large graphic treatments, and adds carbon fiber trim on the inside. Opting for the special TRX also upgrades the standard wheels to a beadlock-capable set of rollers.

No word on pricing for the Bloodshot Night Edition, just yet, however.

Your Move, Ford

With the return of the Ram TRX, that leaves us wondering when Ford will return fire with an updated Raptor R. There’s no official model announcement from the Blue Oval brand, but Ford did show off a rowdy Raptor at the 2025 SEMA show. That model featured potential Ford Performance Parts, which boost output to north of 900 hp. Perhaps all this action will finally convince Chevrolet to give us a wild ZR2 by stuffing a ZR1 engine under the hood.

Do we need a four-figure off-road beast? No. But we’d welcome it with open arms just like we do with the returning Ram TRX and its mighty 777-hp powertrain. Let the truck wars resume!
