Azerbaijan Tourism appoints BRANDit as its India Representative, ET TravelWorld

The Azerbaijan Tourism Board hosted a press conference in Mumba to announce a significant milestone in Azerbaijan-India tourism relations. At the event, the tourism board announced the appointment of BRANDit as the new representative office in India, underscoring the growing interest of Indian travellers in Azerbaijan.

During the event, Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, and Lubaina Sheerazi, CEO of BRANDit, shared their insights and future plans for enhancing Azerbaijan’s visibility in the Indian market.

“Tourism relations between Azerbaijan and India are at a historic high, with increasing arrival numbers and many new emerging experiences and tourism opportunities for Indians, including family and solo vacations, destination weddings, Bollywood and Tamil movies shooting. Comparing to the same period last year, the number of Indian tourists visiting Azerbaijan has surpassed a twofold rise (2.6). With the appointment of BRANDit as our representative office, we are poised to sustain and elevate this growing trend,” shared Florian Sengstschmid, CEO, Azerbaijan Tourism Board.

Sengstschmid also announced the successful completion of a roadshow in three Indian cities — Bangalore, Pune, and Kolkata — involving top Indian travel trade representatives, aimed at strengthening tourism partnerships.

Following his remarks, Lubaina Sheerazi, CEO & Co-Founder, BRANDit expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration. “We’re thrilled to partner with the Azerbaijan Tourism Board as part of BRANDit’s growing portfolio. Our collaboration aims to unveil Azerbaijan’s hidden treasures and connect Indians with its unique experiences and use our expertise in the Indian outbound market, travel trade, and media to capture the growing interest in the destination,” she mentioned.

Azerbaijan’s growing popularity among Indian tourists is attributed to its accessible flights, hassle-free e-visa process, and vibrant cultural and business environment. E-visas, obtainable from evisa.gov.az within 3 days for just USD 26, along with non-stop flights, make travel to Azerbaijan seamless.

Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) concludes successful three-city roadshow in India, by visiting Pune, Chennai and Jaipur. Led by Director Arvind Bundhun, the delegation promoted collaborative growth in the tourism sector. Also, the Mauritian government has “Visa on arrival” a Single-Entry Visa, obtained at the airport, facilitating travel from India.

Currently, AZAL Airlines operates flights between Baku and Mumbai four times a week and between Baku and New Delhi three times a week. IndiGo also operates daily flights from Baku to Delhi, with plans to introduce a new route from Baku to Mumbai.Standing at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Azerbaijan boasts a rich history spanning 5000 years. It is an ideal destination for family vacations, solo travelers, and weddings. The country’s diverse culture, influenced by the Great Silk Road, offers numerous attractions. Key highlights include:

Azerbaijan’s top-notch infrastructure, including the Skytrax 5-star rated Baku International Airport, chain hotels, iconic Flame Towers, and premier facilities like the Baku Congress Centre and Heydar Aliyev Centre, make it an ideal destination for both tourism and business events. This year, Azerbaijan will host COP29 in the fall, further establishing its prominence on the global stage.
