Chrysler might have pioneered the minivan segment 40 years ago, but the culture around them has exploded. Despite being a family vehicle designed for the rigors of childhood, vans are popular among enthusiasts as adventure vehicles. With a few tweaks, a ho-hum minivan can become a rugged-looking overlander, and Chrysler is finally exploring that side of itself with the Chrysler Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept.
The concept, an all-wheel-drive Pacifica, receives an assortment of off-road upgrades. It has a 2.75-inch and 2.50-inch suspension lift, front and rear, along with 31-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires wrapped around 18-inch wheels, all-wheel-drive, and a protective wrap on the lower body. The Grizzly Peak also has a cool-looking grizzly bear badge.

The added capability coincides with several aftermarket overlanding accessories, including the Rhino-Rack roof storage rack, auxiliary TYRI LED lighting, and the retractable ARB awning. Other tweaks include the Baja Designs LED fog lights, the Arktos matte-finish paint color with Foreshadow accents, and Mopar splash guards.
Inside, Chrysler didn’t change as much, but engineers did increase the functionality. They removed the third-row seats for a cargo floor panel, increasing storage space, and added a second set of tie-downs. The concept also features orange seat belts, unique dimple perforations on the steering wheel, Katzkin leather seats, and a Cement Gray and Liquid Titanium color scheme.
Chris Feuell, the brand’s CEO, said the brand is “excited to get feedback from the van-life adventurers.” Chrysler revealed the concept at this year’s Overland Expo Mountain West, which kicks off today. The Pacifica is just a concept for now, but it seems like something that could become a reality if Chrysler were to pursue it. It should, just for the badge.
