Honda Prologue Screen Recall: 65,000 Affected

  • Honda is recalling 65,000 electric crossovers due to several software defects.
  • The defect can cause the instrument and infotainment displays to fail.
  • Honda first learned of the potential issue in June 2024.

Honda is recalling 65,135 crossovers due to several software defects. The affected vehicles could experience blank instrument and infotainment displays, making it impossible for drivers to see their speed, warning lights, and the backup camera.

The recall affects the 2024 Honda Prologue and the 2024 Acura ZDX. According to the recall report, the model’s Radio Control Module (RCM) may contain six independent software defects that can occur independently and cause a process error that results in the screens restarting or failing altogether.

Honda first began investigating the issue in June of 2024, but it struggled to reproduce it. The automaker continued its investigation, receiving information in December 2025 indicating that six software defects were related to the issue.

  • 2023 Acura ZDX — 19,573 Affected
  • 2024 Honda Prologue — 45,562 Affected
  • Total Affected — 65,135

In February, the automaker determined that the defect failed to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and issued the recall. Honda will begin informing affected customers in April, instructing owners to take their vehicles to a designated service center so a technician can update the RCM software.

Honda said it is unaware of any injuries or deaths related to the issue. It has received 148 warranty claims.  The Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX are two electric vehicles built on General Motors’ Ultium battery platform.

Motor1’s Take: Not even Honda is immune to the challenges of building modern cars that are packed with software, even though the two EVs are built on GM hardware. Software and issues related to it continue to trouble automakers and frustrate owners.
