Stellantis on Thursday confirmed that it’s continuing to renovate the Jeep lineup as part of an overall push for new products.
Addressing dealers at the National Automobile Dealer Association (NADA) show in New Orleans, Stellantis confirmed “three all-new Jeep nameplates and three new powertrains—ICE, hybrid, and electric,” according to the automaker after the meeting.
Jeep Recon
Jeep already has some new or redesigned models in the works—some featuring all-electric or hybrid powertrains—and it’s unclear if this announcement references any of them or describes new models being introduced on top of them.
The Jeep Recon is still under development as the brand’s second EV for the U.S., following the Wagoneer S, and introduces a new nameplate. The Recon was first shown in concept form alongside the Wagoneer S in 2022, and was originally due in 2024, but Jeep hasn’t provided an updated timeline for its arrival.
2023 Jeep Cherokee
Former Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares also said last year that an electric Jeep priced around $25,000 was coming to the U.S. “very soon.” That model will likely wear the Renegade badge, as a Stellantis investor presentation published after Tavares’ comments mentioned an electric Jeep Renegade priced below $25,000.
At the 2024 Los Angeles auto show, current Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa also confirmed that a replacement for the Cherokee will arrive this year with a hybrid powertrain, but didn’t clarify whether it would keep the Cherokee name or whether it would be a plug-in hybrid like Jeep’s current 4xe models. A redesigned Compass is expected to follow in 2026, followed by an updated Grand Cherokee and a series plug-in hybrid Wagoneer.
