Marriott’s 150th Hotel in India is a Vegetarian Resort in Katra

 Marriott has expanded its portfolio of hotels in
India with the opening of a resort in Katra, a spiritual region
known for Shri Mata
Vaishnodevi Shrine and Trikuta Hills – popularly known as the Vaishno Devi Hills.

The Katra Marriott Resort & Spa, the company’s
150th hotel to open in the country, is a purely vegetarian resort
located 5-minutes
away from Katra’s local market where guests can enjoy local
cuisine and shop for handicrafts and souvenirs,
intricate papier-mâché creations and walnut wood carvings.

Nearby attractions such as Patnitop Hill Station, Mansar Lake and Krimchi Temple,
are within an hour’s drive from the resort, whilst the city is well connected
by road to
leading metro cities in Northern India like Delhi, Chandigarh and
Amritsar. Katra is 50 kms from Jammu Airport (IXJ) and 222 kms from
Srinagar Airport (SXR).

The Katra Marriott Resort & Spa features 100 guestrooms,
suites and cottages, offering
views of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and lush green
landscapes.

Some of the rooms have private balconies, whilst the cottage suite
features a private swimming pool.

Facilities at the resort include a spa with five therapy
rooms, a fitness center, kid’s club, a choice of F&B outlets and over 12,000 square feet of
meeting and event spaces.
