EIH Limited, the flagship company of The Oberoi Group, has entered into a strategic partnership with Bhartiya Group to develop a portfolio of 20 wellness-focused uber-luxury lifestyle resorts across India and select international destinations, marking a significant expansion of the luxury hospitality company’s footprint in the experiential and wellness travel segment. The partnership brings together Bhartiya Hospitality’s expertise in integrated lifestyle developments with The Oberoi Group’s luxury hospitality and service standards to create a new hospitality offering centred on mindful living, immersive design and personalised wellness experiences. The first phase of the collaboration will see three resorts developed in Coorg, Kabini and Hampi, with all properties expected to open by 2030. Over the longer term, the partners plan to build a portfolio of 20 resorts, reflecting growing confidence in the long-term potential of luxury leisure and wellness tourism.Unlike conventional luxury resorts, the new properties will be positioned around a wellness-forward philosophy, combining design-led architecture, immersive landscapes and personalised guest experiences. The resorts will feature thoughtfully curated indoor-outdoor environments, expansive gardens and spaces designed to encourage relaxation, reflection and social interaction. The partners said the guest experience will focus on “joyful wellness” rather than traditional wellness programmes, offering mindful dining, restorative therapies and curated experiences designed to promote wellbeing in an intuitive and engaging manner. The announcement comes at a time when wellness tourism is emerging as one of the fastest-growing segments of the global travel industry. According to the Global Wellness Institute, the sector is projected to continue expanding rapidly as travellers increasingly seek experiences centred on health, longevity and holistic wellbeing. India, with its strong heritage in wellness traditions and growing luxury hospitality market, has become an important destination for both domestic and international wellness travellers.Commenting on the partnership, Snehdeep Aggarwal, Founder and Chairman, Bhartiya Group, said the collaboration seeks to redefine the future of luxury hospitality.”More than just resorts, I dream of creating blue zones where people live, laugh and love more. In this new world, people will come to surrender, nourish and evolve—wellness here feels joyful and abundant. I deeply value our partnership with The Oberoi Group as we bring this new world to life,” Aggarwal said.Arjun Oberoi, Executive Chairman, The Oberoi Group, said design would be central to every resort, creating environments that blend architecture and nature while reflecting the group’s longstanding focus on elegance and guest-centric hospitality.“We are delighted to partner with Bhartiya on this distinctive vision. Design will be at the heart of each resort, with immersive gardens and thoughtfully articulated spaces shaping the guest experience. The seamless interplay between architecture and landscape will create environments that are both restorative and inspiring, while reflecting the timeless elegance and attention to detail that define The Oberoi Group,” he said.Vikram Oberoi, Chief Executive Officer, The Oberoi Group, said the partnership represents an opportunity to extend the company’s philosophy of personalised hospitality into a new category of wellness-led luxury experiences.“This partnership with Bhartiya to develop 20 new resorts under management by EIH allows us to extend our philosophy of intuitive and personalised service into a wellness-enhanced hospitality offering. With resorts located in destinations that encourage longer lengths of stay, every interaction will be thoughtfully crafted to stimulate the senses and create lasting memories such that a departing guest will leave with an unquenchable desire to repeat the experience,” he said. The collaboration also reflects the broader evolution of luxury hospitality, where guest expectations are increasingly shifting beyond traditional opulence towards experiences that combine wellness, sustainability, meaningful design and emotional wellbeing. For Oberoi, the partnership represents an expansion into a rapidly evolving segment while reinforcing its long-term growth strategy through management-led development across high-value leisure destinations.
