Rajasthan is now looking to develop new tourism sites to keep the interests of the visitors piqued. In order to redefine the state’s tourism landscape, Rajasthan Tourism Department has initiated identification and development of new tourist destinations in every district of the state.

The initiative will include restoration and conservation efforts for two distinct tourist spots in each district. According to department officials, these projects are already in progress and are supported by the Tourism Development Fund. The primary objective of these projects is to spread the economic benefits of tourism throughout Rajasthan.

According to Gayatri Rathod, Principal Secretary of the Tourism Department, this initiative is in alignment with the 22-23 Budget Announcement. “We are proud to announce that two unique tourist destinations have been earmarked for development in each district. This visionary plan not only aims to enhance existing tourist spots but also envisions the creation of entirely new attractions for visitors,” Rathod said.

As the inaugural Punjab Tourism Summit and Travel Mart kickstarts today, Punjab Tourism Minister shared the state’s vision to create theme parks, resorts and convention centres, besides setting up film cities and Unity Malls. Punjab is also ready to explore business and investment opportunities, she said. The 3-day mart will provide a platform for forward-thinking tourism professionals from India and beyond and will discuss recent policies.

With a total investment of INR 70.06 crore, development and renovation activities are currently underway in numerous districts, including Alwar, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Bundi, Bharatpur, Banswara, Dausa, Dungarpur, Jodhpur, Jhalawar, Jalore, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Nagaur, Sirohi, Bikaner, Chittorgarh, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Kota, and Pratapgarh.”Our dedicated efforts are geared towards revitalizing the state’s tourism sector, benefiting all associated businesses and communities,” said Dr. Rashmi Sharma, Director of the Tourism Department. “These initiatives aim to breathe new life into Rajasthan’s tourism scene, promising a unique and diverse experience in every district.”

Sharma also highlighted the collaborative approach taken by the Tourism Department informing about their close association with various government departments, including the Forest Department, Archaeology Department, and Public Works Department, as well as municipal bodies, to ensure the success of these projects. “The rapid pace of work reflects their commitment to reinvigorating Rajasthan’s tourism industry and offering a wide range of experiences to travellers from both near and far,” said Sharma.
