RateGain Travel Technologies has completed its acquisition of Sojern, marking a significant milestone in its ambition to build one of the world’s most comprehensive AI-powered growth platforms for the travel and hospitality industry.

Announced on 6 November 2025, the transaction brings together RateGain’s expertise in martech, revenue optimisation, and distribution with Sojern’s specialisation in digital marketing and traveller engagement. The combined entity will now serve more than 13,000 customers across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific, positioning RateGain among the top global travel technology providers by both revenue and customer reach.

According to the company, the integration of Sojern’s capabilities will allow travel and hospitality brands to connect marketing, distribution, and revenue decisions through an AI-driven platform that enhances multichannel demand generation, accurate pricing intelligence, and personalised traveller engagement at scale.

“This acquisition marks a major milestone in RateGain’s evolution as we continue to scale globally and deepen our AI-led offerings,” said Bhanu Chopra, Founder and Chairman of RateGain. “Sojern brings complementary strengths in digital marketing and traveller engagement that enhance our ability to provide an end-to-end platform for driving profitable growth. Together, we are positioned to accelerate value creation for our shareholders and customers alike.”

Sojern, founded in 2007 and headquartered in San Francisco, is a marketing platform purpose-built for hospitality. Its platform delivers traveller insight, intelligent audiences, multichannel activation, and a connected guest experience to help brands drive bookings and engagement. More than 13,000 travel marketers use the platform annually to attract and convert travellers worldwide.

Mark Rabe, CEO of Sojern, said joining RateGain provides the company an opportunity to expand into new markets and further enrich its global product portfolio. “Our shared vision to apply data and AI across the traveller journey via a unified platform creates a powerful foundation for measurable, sustainable growth in a dynamic global travel market,” he added.

Industry observers see the move as strategically aligned with the broader trend of consolidation and AI-driven transformation in travel technology. As travel companies increasingly rely on automation, personalisation, and real-time insights, the combined RateGain–Sojern offering is expected to play a pivotal role in reshaping digital engagement across the traveller lifecycle.

RateGain Travel Technologies has appointed Ashish Sikka as Senior Vice President and Business Head of UNO, its AI-led hotel operations suite. Sikka will oversee strategy, product innovation, and global expansion. His leadership comes as UNO integrates booking and distribution systems with AI tools. The appointment follows the launch of UNO VIVA, RateGain’s voice-based hotel reservation solution.

The company said the focus post-acquisition will remain on innovation, customer outcomes, and building a future-ready ecosystem for the travel sector. By combining RateGain’s scale in data processing—spanning electronic transactions, pricing points, and intent signals—with Sojern’s marketing intelligence, the partnership aims to deliver measurable results in revenue management, demand forecasting, and customer retention.

Founded in 2004 and headquartered in India, RateGain works with more than 3,200 customers and 700 partners across 100 countries, including 26 of the top 30 global hotel chains, 25 of the top 30 online travel agents, and several leading airlines, car rental companies, and cruise lines. The company’s growing portfolio of AI-powered SaaS products helps clients drive higher revenue through smarter customer acquisition, retention, and wallet-share expansion.

The acquisition of Sojern thus represents the next step in RateGain’s ongoing transformation into a unified, data-driven platform designed to support travel brands in an increasingly competitive and fast-evolving digital marketplace.
