Still affordable, new Kia Soulmate: 2025 Soul costs $21,665

  • The 2025 Kia Soul arrives with a $100 price increase over last year’s model
  • Soulmate Special Edition builds off the EX trim
  • Soulmate rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels with a two-tone roof

The 2025 Kia Soul hatchback rolls into the new year with a $100 price bump over the 2024 Kia Soul and a new Soulmate Special Edition that squeezes more character out of the affordable quirkmobile. The base 2025 Kia Soul LX costs $21,665, including a $1,375 destination fee, Kia announced late Friday.

Even with the modest price increase, the Soul remains one of the most affordable new car deals. It’s priced similarly to the Kia Forte, which is undercut only by the $17,820 Nissan Versa and soon-to-be discontinued Mitsubishi Mirage for $18,000.

Light on power, big on character, the 2025 Kia Soul carries over with a 147 hp 2.0-liter inline-4 with a CVT and front-wheel drive. It gets an estimated 35 mpg combined. Standard driver-assist features include automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, and lane-departure warnings, and every Soul comes with a reassuring 5-year/60,000-mile warranty.

The $21,665 base LX comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cloth upholstery, keyless entry, and power features. The Technology package upgrades from 15-inch to 16-inch wheels and adds blind-spot monitors as well as active lane control.

For $24,165, the 2025 Soul S adds a 10.3-inch touchscreen with wired smartphone connectivity, wireless smartphone charging, keyless start, upgraded cloth upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, two USB chargers, and 17-inch wheels. It also bakes in the Tech package with blind-spot monitors and active lane control.

The sportier flourishes and black trim of the GT-Line cost $25,265. It has speaker lights, adjustable headrests, synthetic leather, and an available Tech package with heated front seats, Harman Kardon audio, LED everything, and adaptive cruise control.

What about my Kia Soulmate?

The Soulmate Special Edition builds off the range-topping EX trim that, for $25,965, comes with heated front seats and 18-inch wheels. The Soulmate has different 18-inch wheels, an umber interior color with two-tone seating, a two-tone roof, more lower body cladding, and Harman Kardon sound. Kia did not disclose what the package will cost, but expect kicking in another $1,000 for your Soulmate.

The 2025 Kia Soul goes on sale soon.
