Travis Kelce’s Dad Ed Kelce Praises Taylor Swift for an Unseen Moment

Taylor Swift has the Ed Kelce seal of approval. In a new interview, the father of Travis Kelce praised the “Anti-Hero” singer for being down-to-earth when he met her during a recent Kansas City Chiefs game. 

Calling Taylor “a very, very sweet, very charming, down-to-earth young woman,” Ed tells People that the GRAMMY winner was “very genuine” and shares a story from their first encounter. 

“I’ll tell you something very special that I noticed about Taylor the first time I met her,” Ed says. “We’re sitting in the suite, she gets up and in the front room, she gets up to go get a drink or something and she starts picking up empty bottles, cans, plates that are scattered around. Because in the suites everybody gets stuff and you empty it down wherever you can.”

The father of Travis and Jason Kelce notes, “And I’m just thinking, I don’t think she got the diva memo. She didn’t get the spoiled musician. She doesn’t know how to pull that off. And that really to me said a whole lot.”

He adds that the famed singer-songwriter is “very smart,” saying, “That comes through right away.” 

Travis previously opened up to his brother, Jason, on their New Heights podcast about the “terrifying” experience of realizing that his dad was talking to Taylor. 

“Taylor talking to Dad, you already know, you know Dad like I know Dad, this is a terrifying conversation. I felt terrible, I felt terrible for Taylor,” Travis said of the exchange. 

Jason quipped, “If you see Dad talking to anybody and you can’t hear what’s happening, who knows where that conversation is going?” 

“You can see in this picture, he’s just pumping her up, he started listening to her music more, he started doing some stuff,” Travis added of his father. 

Taylor has also been spotted connecting with the Kelce brothers’ mom, Donna Kelce (a.k.a. Mama Kelce) in the private box. 

Things have been heating up between Taylor and Travis, who first sparked romance rumors late last month. The couple have been on several public outings together, including an impromptu appearance on Saturday Night Live. 

And the internet went wild on Monday when a new photo featuring Taylor kissing Travis on the cheek at an after-party for the Chiefs was posted online.
