It’s finally happened. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto has been introduced on some 2025 Genesis models. Also new in 2025, the launch of the Magma performance sub-brand arrives on the GV60 electric hatchback. Genesis intends it to rival the luxury performance arms, such as Mercedes-AMG, BMW’s M division, and Audi’s RS series. Hot.
Genesis enters 2025 with an expanded crossover SUV lineup and updated electric counterparts to its gas models. An updated Electrified GV70 is planned for 2026, as is the Electrified G80. Some markets may see hybrid powertrains offered for the first time, as the brand delays its electric vehicle goals. It remains to be seen if a hybrid will come here and if so, when.
Here’s what we know now for the 2025 Genesis lineup.
Genesis refreshes the G80 with a new grille design and updated headlights, as well as new bumpers and wheel designs. The Electrified G80 electric sedan variant updates for the 2026 model year. The 2026 E G80 rides on a wheelbase stretched by 5.1 inches, resulting in more rear legroom. A new 27-inch screen display introduced in the GV80 also graces both the gas and electric versions of the G80. Genesis said it reduced noise, vibration, and harshness, and also equips it with ultra-luxe options such as push-button rear doors, executive rear seats with legrests, and other features that may appeal to the chauffeured class. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain relies on an 87.2-kwh battery, and the range estimate is 282 miles.
We’ll update this when 2025 pricing has been announced for the G80.
2025 Genesis GV80
The largest Genesis SUV offers a power-folding third row to seat seven passengers total, but it’s only suitable for the kids. The interior sports the big changes to this biggest model, with a bank of screens under one 27.0-inch pane of glass that includes a touchscreen easier to reach than the outgoing model’s 14.5-inch touchscreen. A touch climate panel flanked by temperature dials sits below the screens. The GV80 SUV carries over with a 2.5-liter turbo-4 rated at 300 hp, or a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 making 375 hp. An 8-speed automatic routes power to all four wheels. The 2025 GV80 2.5T Standard AWD starts the bidding at $59,050, while the loaded 3.5T Prestige tops the lineup at $80,650.
A five-seat version of the GV80 with a raked roofline and sportier design, the new GV80 Coupe rivals the Audi Q8 and BMW X6 in its body style. Base models use a 375-hp twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 for $81,300, but for another $5,800 shoppers can pick a mild-hybrid variant of the V-6 that ups the output to 409 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. That’s good for a 0-60 mph time of under five seconds, and adaptive damping as well as center and rear locking differentials improve on handling and stability. It comes loaded, and it looks great, but it’s priced above rivals.
