The 2024 Kia EV6 electric crossover enters its third model year with a lower-cost way of getting the larger battery pack, Kia announced Thursday. The entry-level Light model can now be paired with the larger battery pack, effectively dropping the price by nearly $3,000 while assuring the model line’s top range rating of 310 miles.
The Kia EV6 Light still uses a 58.0-kwh battery pack that has a range of 232 miles and a starting price of $43,925, including a $1,325 destination fee; it’s only offered with rear-wheel drive with this smaller pack.
With the larger 77.4-kwh battery pack included in the Light Long Range, it’s offered with rear- or all-wheel drive, and the repositioning bring it into better price parity with the related Hyundai Ioniq 5.
The new base long-range version comes with a single motor and rear-wheel-drive for $47,275. That’s $2,750 less than the cheapest 2023 Kia EV6 with the long-range battery, which was the Wind trim. The Wind AWD carries over at a price of $50,025. System output for all rear-wheel-drive EV6 models is 225 hp.

The EV6 Light with the bigger battery can also be had with two motors and all-wheel drive for an output of 320 hp. On 19-inch wheels, it has a range of 282 miles and a starting price of $51,175.
The $3,900 price increase for the 320-hp dual-motor configuration applies to the Wind model as well, so the Wind AWD costs $53,925. The GT-Line RWD costs $54,225, and GT-Line AWD costs $58,925.
Range-topping 2024 Kia EV6 GT versions and their 576-hp dual-motor setup cost $62,925.
The 2024 Kia EV6 goes on sale this fall. It is not eligible for the federal EV tax credit.
