2025 VW ID.Buzz has 231 miles of range for $61,545

Retro chic won’t come cheap at Volkswagen.

On Wednesday, the German automaker announced the 2025 Volkswagen ID.Buzz will cost $61,545 including a $1,550 destination charge. The electric bus will finally arrive in dealers later this year, and it’ll go between 234 and 231 miles on a charge.

When it arrives the ID.Buzz will come in base Pro S, Pro S Plus, and launch-only 1st Edition trims. Every ID.Buzz will have three rows of seats with seating for six or seven passengers. A 91-kwh battery pack powers every ID.Buzz. Single-motor rear-wheel drive models have 282 hp and 234 miles of EPA-rated range. Dual-motor models add all-wheel drive and increase output to 335 hp, but drops EPA-rated range to 231 miles.

The single rear motor is standard on all three trims with dual-motor AWD optional on mid- and upper Pro S Plus and 1st Edition models.

2025 Volkswagen ID.Buzz

For $61,545 the Base Pro S models come well equipped with a standard second-row bench seat with the ability to hold seven passengers. A 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 5.3-inch digital gauge cluster are standard. Families will find eight 45-watt USB-C ports, a 12-volt trunk outlet, and 150-watt 110-volt outlet inside. LED lighting throughout and 20-inch aluminum wheels are all standard. The front seats are 12-way heated, ventilated, and massaging power operated affairs while the outboard second-row seats are heated as well.  A heated steering wheel is standard. Only three monotone colors are offered on the base model including Candy White, Deep Black Pearl, and Metro Silver. Interior color options include Copper and Moonlight.

Mid-trim Pro S Plus models cost $65,045 with a single-motor and $69,545 with a dual-motor powertrain. A head-up display and surround-view camera system get added along with a 700-watt Harman Kardon sound system with 14 speakers. A retractable tow hitch is onboard, but tow ratings won’t be available until closer to launch. While a second-row bench with seating for up to seven is standard, second-row captain’s chairs will be an option on single-motor models and standard on dual-motor models. The three-option monotone color palette opens up with two-tone color options for $995. 

The launch-only 1st Edition model costs $67,045 with a single-motor and $71,545 with the dual-motor powertrain. Every 1st Edition features the Dune interior color option and can be had with five two-tone exterior color choices. The 1st Edition trim nets specific a 20-inch wheel design, heritage-inspired floor mats, roof rail cross bars, and 1st Edition badging inside and out. Single-motor models will feature a second-row bench with seating for seven while dual-motor models swap in captain’s chairs and seating for six.
