The 2025 Genesis G70 sedan and GV70 crossover SUV carry over with minimal changes.
A new Burleigh Blue Matte paint color is the main bit of news for the G70. The sedan still comes standard with a 2.5-liter turbo-4, which was introduced for the 2024 model year. This engine produces 300 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque, while an optional 3.3-liter twin-turbo V-6 is rated at 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. Both engines pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission, with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive available.
Genesis has also reduced the number of trim levels for 2025. The base G70 grade is the rear-wheel drive 2.5T, which starts at $43,250 with the mandatory $1,250 destination charge. The 6-cylinder G70 3.3T starts at $51,700 with rear-wheel drive and the destination charge. All-wheel drive is an additional $2,100 with either engine.
Introduced for the 2019 model year, the G70 received a major refresh for 2022, and a smaller update for 2024 that saw the 2.5-liter engine replace the previous 2.0-liter turbo-4, among other changes.
2025 Genesis GV70
For 2025, the GV70 crossover adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Genesis Connected Services. The color palette also changes. Genesis subtracted Cardiff Green and Brunswick Green from the list of options for the gasoline GV70, and Makalu Gray from the Electrified GV70. It added Storr Green, Storr Green Matte, Matterhorn White Matte, and Makalu Gray Matte for gasoline models, but no new colors for the electric version.
Gasoline GV70 models continue to be offered with a 2.5-liter turbo-4 making the same 300 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque as in the G70, or a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 producing 375 hp and 391 lb-ft. An 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are standard with both engines.
2025 Genesis Electrified GV70
The 4-cylinder GV70 2.5T AWD starts at $47,050 in base Standard guise, with a $1,350 destination charge. Select ($50,050), Advanced ($53,050), and Sport Prestige ($58,950) grades are also available. The GV70 3.5T brings 6-cylinder power in Sport ($59,650), Sport Advanced ($66,050), and Sport Prestige ($69,250) grades.
Introduced for the 2023 model year (one year after the gasoline GV70), the Genesis Electrified GV70 sports a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain rated at 429 hp and 516 lb-ft (with 483 hp temporarily available via a boost mode) and a 77.4-kwh battery pack affording 236 miles of EPA range. Advanced and Prestige grades are available, priced at $68,300 and $75,100, respectively.
The Electrified GV70 thus far does not qualify for a federal EV tax credit, despite being made in Alabama and coming in under the $80,000 price cap for SUVs.
