Honda Recall: 60,000 SUVs Affected

• Honda is recalling 60,000 SUVs for backup cameras that might fail.
• The recall affects the Honda Prologue and the Acura ZDX.
• The camera housing may have an improper bonding treatment, leading to separation.

Honda is recalling 59,887 SUVs because their backup cameras may fail. The vehicles might have a rearview camera housing with improper bonding, which can cause the adhesive to separate and allow moisture into the camera assembly.

The recall affects the 2024 Acura ZDX and the 2024-2025 Honda Prologue electric SUVs, which are related to General Motors’ EVs. Once moisture enters the housing, it can corrode internal electrical components, possibly resulting in a blurry, distorted, or blank display.  

Honda first began investigating the potential issue in May 2024 and began collaborating with General Motors a month later. The two have been monitoring the potential problem ever since, analyzing returned parts and market data. In early May 2026, Honda determined that a motor vehicle safety defect existed and decided to conduct a safety recall.

The Japanese automaker says it is aware of 2,411 warranty claims related to the problem, but it is unaware of any accidents, injuries, or deaths caused by the faulty camera. Honda will replace the camera with an improved part, according to the recall report.
