Modern infotainment systems can give new life to aging cars. Land Rover Classic knows this, which is why it’s just announced a new upgrade for the L322-generation Range Rover built up until 2012, adding wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility… unless you live in the United States.
The new system, which retains the Range Rover’s original touchscreen and buttons, is only available for Range Rovers built between 2010 and 2012. Land Rover says it’s compatible with every stereo system offered during those years, and promises users will be able to “seamlessly” transition from the legacy interface to CarPlay or Android Auto.
“Like all of our work at Classic Works, this infotainment upgrade has been designed to integrate with the vehicle’s original design and remain true to the OEM specification, while unlocking newer technology,” says Dominic Elms, managing director of Land Rover Classic.
“That way, our clients and enthusiasts can continue to use their third‑generation Range Rovers every day, with the knowledge our team of experts have paid close attention to the details and authenticity of the original specification.”

Land Rover has yet to release pricing, but says buyers in the United Kingdom and Germany will receive a two-year warranty for the upgrade. A company spokesperson confirmed to Motor1 that the company has no plans to offer the retrofit in the United States.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a carmaker offer infotainment modernization upgrades for its old cars. Back in 2022, Porsche launched factory upgrades for the 911, Boxster, and Cayenne. But instead of retaining the factory hardware, Porsche’s system swaps out the entire head unit.
