The construction and development of the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh is progressing rapidly, with significant milestones achieved on the path to operational readiness. This large and complex project has reached a critical phase, with the next few weeks of construction activities being crucial to meet the planned timeline.
Work on the runway, passenger terminal, and control tower is well advanced, showcasing the project’s steady progress. Recently, key concessions for ground handling, commercial area operations, and essential maintenance contracts have been awarded, marking important steps forward. Additionally, agreements with several airlines have been signed to establish flight connections from Noida International Airport, further boosting its operational prospects.
Given the current construction status, commercial operations are expected to commence by the end of April 2025. The project team is working in close collaboration with EPC contractor Tata Projects Limited and other stakeholders to maintain the high pace of construction activities and preparations for operational readiness.
“We are committed to delivering a sustainable and world-class airport for Delhi NCR and Uttar Pradesh,” said a spokesperson for Noida International Airport. “Our focus remains on achieving our goal and ensuring that all necessary elements are in place for a successful launch.”
As the project advances, Noida International Airport is set to become a pivotal infrastructure hub, enhancing connectivity and supporting economic growth in the region.
Noida International Airport (IATA code – DXN) will connect the greater Delhi area and Western Uttar Pradesh with other cities in India and the world.
NIA will be the first airport in its class in India to achieve net zero emissions, setting a new standard for sustainable airport operations. At its opening, the airport will feature one runway and one terminal and handle a capacity of 12 million passengers – with the potential for further development in additional construction phases.
