Suzuki Built Five Adorable Concepts We’re Not Allowed to Have

It’s been over a decade since Suzuki stopped selling cars in the United States, attempting to move the Kizashi sedan, the Equator pickup, and the Grand Vitara SUV before throwing in the towel. But, Suzuki still builds new cars for other markets, cars we can’t have, like the five adorable concepts it’s showing off at next month’s Tokyo Auto Salon.

The first concept is the bite-sized Jimny SUV. It’s part of a collaboration with the video gam company Capcom, and it draws its design cues from the Monster Hunter franchise. Capcom released the game’s latest installment, Monster Hunter Wilds, earlier this year.

Suzuki is also showing off a DR-Z4S off-road motorcycle inspired by the Monster Hunter‘s “Seikret,” a type of transportation. It features a unique livery and a saddle bag.

There’s also a Suzuki XBEE outfitted for nature photographers and a Suzuki Every Wagon called the Wanpaku Rider, which is designed for families looking for outdoor fun. This van has a roof rack, a Roam awning, auxiliary lights, and three Strider bikes on top.

The final concept is the Suzuki Super Carry Work & Play Pro. It’s a tiny truck with a cage around the bed for added utility. The automaker says the Super Carry is supposed to serve as a base camp for both work and play, whether that’s camping on the weekend or hauling during the week.

The Toyoko Auto Salon runs from January 9 to January 11, and there will be a few other exciting debuts. Nissan will show off the manual-equipped Z Nismo, and it’ll be the first time Toyota shows off the GR GT sports car to the public—and those are the debuts we know about. Stay tuned for more details early next month.

We’ll get the Z Nismo MT and GR GT in the United States, but Suzuki will never bring its cute little cars here, likely no matter what changes are made to federal law.
