Vistara launches 6x weekly flights between Mumbai and Frankfurt, ET TravelWorld

Vistara is starting direct flights between Mumbai and Frankfurt on November 15, 2023. The airline already has flights to Frankfurt from Delhi, which have been popular since its launch in February 2021. Vistara will use a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with three different cabin options – Business, Premium Economy, and Economy.

Vistara has been growing its presence in Mumbai, connecting the city to 12 international destinations, including Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Colombo, Dammam, Dhaka, Dubai, Jeddah, London Heathrow, Male, Mauritius, Muscat, and Singapore. They have added many new domestic and international connections from Mumbai in the past year, increasing the number of departures by 42 per cent and nearly doubling the number of employees at the station.

Vistara’s CEO, Vinod Kannan, said that they are happy to expand their international network with the Mumbai-Frankfurt route. Vistara’s Delhi-London Heathrow, Paris, and Frankfurt routes have proven popular with customers, which gives them the confidence to offer similar connections from Mumbai. This is their second long-haul route from Mumbai, in addition to their 5x weekly flights to London Heathrow.

The flights are subject to necessary regulatory approvals.

The airline aims to position Mumbai as a vital hub for international travel, which aligns with their strategy to offer several new international routes, especially to the Middle East.

The flights’ schedule between Mumbai and Frankfurt effective from November 15th, 2023, is as follows:

Mumbai – Frankfurt UK 0027 Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays 1300 hrs 1730 hrs

Frankfurt – Mumbai UK 0028 Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays 2020 hrs 0910 hrs (+1).

Vistara announced daily non-stop flights between Delhi and Hong Kong, starting 29 October 2023. The airline will operate its A321neo aircraft featuring a three-class configuration on this route. With the addition of Hong Kong, Vistara will now be able to offer direct connectivity to and from three of the world’s top financial centres, the others being London and Singapore.
