Travis Kelce is one excited “boyfriend.”
The Kansas City Chiefs star tight end displayed an enthusiastic response upon being referred to as Taylor Swift‘s “boyfriend” in a postgame video shared on social media this past Sunday.
Kelce’s response to the affectionate nickname was equally endearing. He briefly smiled when one fan called him “Trav,” but his infectious enthusiasm shone through when a man in the crowd excitedly yelled, “Let’s go, Taylor’s boyfriend!”
The footage captured Kelce, casually donning in his signature red flannel shirt, and pumping a fist in the air at the mention. Swift’s dedicated fan base, known as “Swifties,” couldn’t contain their excitement and quickly took to Twitter to express their adoration for the Catching Kelce alumnus and his lighthearted reaction.
“He’s so obsessed with her and I love it for them,” gushed one X user, echoing the sentiments of many others. Fans affectionately labeled Kelce as “proud” of the GRAMMY-winning superstar and commended his evident self-assuredness.
Another fan praised Kelce’s ability to handle the situation with grace and respect, writing, “He’s THE BEST at handling everything with grace and respect.” However, one fan offered a word of caution, suggesting that shouting such comments, while cute, might not be conducive in the long run. “This is cute, and I love how he responds, but please, shouting things like these won’t be good in the long run. He’s great at what he does, and we all should respect that,” the fan cautioned.
The exchange unfolded following the Kansas City Chiefs beating the Los Angeles Chargers 31-17
Kelce, who has been romantically linked to the 10-time GRAMMY-winning singer since September, left the venue hand-in-hand with Swift. Swift, 33, went above and beyond to show her support for the 34-year-old NFL player, pairing her pleated skirt and heeled loafers with a Kansas City Chiefs sweatshirt. What caught the keen eyes of fans was Swift’s choice of jewelry; she proudly sported Kelce’s jersey number, 87, on a beaded bracelet, fueling further speculation about their relationship.
Meanwhile, after changing out of his gear, Travis walked out alongside Taylor wearing a red and white plaid button-down and patterned tan slacks.
The pair once again kept their fingers interlocked as they sweetly left the arena and got into a golf cart that took them through the parking lot — in which they sat side-by-side while getting away from the prying eyes of fans.
The duo finally exited the parking lot together in a black Rolls Royce, off to celebrate another victory in the Chief’s winning streak.
It’s likely because of this winning streak that the Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid has no problem at all with Taylor coming to so many games (where she seems to inadvertently steal a bit of the spotlight from the sport itself).
Speaking with reporters after the game, Reid said with a smile, “Kelce keeps getting better with time. Taylor can stay around all she wants.”
During the game, Taylor and quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, seemingly had a great time with Baby Bronze. As the game got started, Taylor was spotted holding her camera in the direction of the adorable baby, who smiled for the camera as his mom held him on her hip. In more clips, the trio was game day ready, as they danced, chatted and cheered.
Taylor and Brittany even showed off a celebratory, well-choreographed handshake, following a good play by the Chiefs.
Sunday marks Taylor’s fourth time supporting the Chiefs, as she cheered on no. 87 — whom she has been linked to since September.
