- Ordering starts in late October, deliveries start in the spring, pricing hasn’t been announced
The Ford Expedition has been overhauled for the 2025 model year, receiving a new look inside and out, plus the availability of a rugged Tremor model for the first time.
Unveiled late on Thursday, the 2025 Expedition will be available to order starting Oct. 24 and is due to reach dealerships next spring. Pricing information hasn’t been announced but as a guide, the 2024 model starts at $57,625, including a $1,995 destination charge.
The current Expedition arrived for the 2018 model year and was given an initial update for 2022. The update for 2025 is much more substantial than a typical model refresh. Ford even refers to the 2025 Expedition as a new generation.

There’s new styling up front featuring double-stacked headlights and a wide grille with a surrounding light strip that encloses the headlights and connects with the daytime running lights. At the rear, a new split tailgate has been added, where the bottom section folds flat and can be used as seating with support for up to 500 pounds. There’s even an available seat back that can transform into a serving table.

For the interior, the dash features a new, less cluttered design dominated by a 24-inch floating display integrating a digital gauge cluster. A second screen with a landscape position sits in the center stack and serves as the infotainment hub. There are several buttons below the screen, along with a rotary dial gear selector. Google and Alexa voice assistants are also included for interaction with the vehicle.
Seating for up to eight is available and buyers can continue to choose between a standard wheelbase and long-wheelbase Expedition Max. And thanks to flexible second and third rows, the middle seats of those rows can fold down independently to enable long objects to be carried while six seats remain in place.

What hasn’t changed is the powertrain. The 2025 Expedition carries the outgoing model’s twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6. It comes in 400- and 440-hp outputs (440 hp standard on Tremor and available on Platinum), and depending on the configuration is paired with either rear-wheel or four-wheel drive. The sole transmission is a 10-speed automatic and towing capacity is either 7,000 pounds, or 9,600 pounds when a weight distributing hitch is used.
The 2025 Expedition lineup consists of the Active, King Ranch, and Platinum models, plus the new Tremor.

The Tremor comes with 10.6 inches of ground clearance, 33-inch General Grabber All-Terrain tires, running boards, a front skid plate, and additional underbody protection for the front axle, transfer case, and fuel tank. Ford said the suspension and power steering systems were also retuned for off-road conditions, and the drive mode selector enhanced with a Rock Crawl model. Electronic driver-assist features for trailering are also included.
New to the Expedition lineup is an available Connectivity Package that can either be added as a one-time purchase or as a subscription. It adds WiFi along with the Google Play app store and embedded Google Maps.
Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driving system for highways is also available on most of the Expedition lineup, and has been made cheaper for subscribers. Like the Connectivity Package, BlueCruise is also available as a one-time purchase as an alternative to the subscriptions.
The related Lincoln Navigator has also been overhauled for the 2025 model year. The 2025 Navigator debuted in August and will be available to order later this year as well.
