On sale later this summer, the 2025 Nissan Frontier receives a mild refresh for the new model year, bringing technology updates and more standard features to the midsize pickup truck.
The Frontier received its first redesign in 17 years for the 2022 model year, and the styling that came with that renewal remains essentially unchanged with this refresh. Nissan says the front fascia and grille are new, but it takes a sharp eye to spot the differences.
A new Afterburn Orange paint color will likely get the most attention. A new tailgate finisher for the Pro-X and Pro-4X models, as well as a new 17-inch wheel design, round out the exterior changes.
As before, the Pro-X and Pro-4X models also feature all-terrain tires and suspension designed for off-roading. For 2025, the surround-view camera system on these grades adds an off-road mode that allows the cameras to stay on at speeds up to 12 mph—something that isn’t allowed on pavement.
2025 Nissan Frontier
Inside, SV and higher grades received a 12.3-inch touchscreen for 2025. Nissan also added wireless Android Auto connectivity, alongside the previously available wireless Apple CarPlay, so Android users no longer need a cable.
Nissan added more features across the various Frontier grades. A telescopic-adjusting steering wheel and sliding rear window are now standard on all models, along with a sunglass holder.
A four-way power front passenger’s seat is now standard on Pro-X and Pro-4X models, while the six-way power driver’s seat on SV and higher grades adds two-way lumbar adjustment. SV models get standard 17-inch wheels, and range-topping SL models now come standard with a wireless phone charger, surround-view camera system, and four-way power front passenger’s seat.
2025 Nissan Frontier
All Frontier models continue to use a 3.8-liter V-6 making 310 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque, connected to a 9-speed automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. However, Nissan claims an increased maximum towing capacity of 7,150 pounds for 2025, and increases of around 500 pounds on all configurations compared to 2024.
Speaking of configurations, it’s now possible to order a Pro-4X or SL as a long-wheelbase crew cab, which was previously an option only on the SV grade. This adds a 6-foot bed to the four-door cab.
The full lineup includes S, SV, Pro-X, Pro-4X, and SL grades, with pricing to be announced at a later date.
