The different pieces of furniture were produced by
local artists using parts from an Airbus A321 fuselage and
interior structures from a Boeing Boeing 767.
“Air Astana is committed to the principles of
sustainable development,” comments Yulia Lim, Air Astana Director
of Compliance and Sustainability. “The Upcycling for the Future
project is an example of the careful approach to managing
resources and recycling, which is a strategic priority for Air
Astana. We are delighted that this unique aircraftfurniture is
being installed in the new Almaty Airport international terminal,
where passengers will be reminded of the importance of sustainable
development.”
Air Astana Group operates a fleet of 51 aircraft
split between Air Astana, a full-service airline, and FlyArystan,
a low-cost carrier.
