Hong Kong Airlines Resumes Saipan Flights

 Hong Kong Airlines has resumed flights to
Saipan, a popular destination offering beautiful beaches and some
of the best dive sites in the world.

The airline will operate the route with two
flights per week.

Flight HX76 is scheduled to depart from Hong Kong
Airport (HKG) every Thursday and Sunday at 19:25, arriving in
Saipan (SPN) at 02:35 the following day.

From Saipan, flight HX77 is slated to leave every
Monday and Friday at 04:05, arriving in Hong Kong at 07:00.

“Since its initial launch in 2016, our Saipan
service has been very popular with travellers, not only due to the
island’s natural allure but also because of Saipan’s visa-free
policy, which facilitates easy travel. We are also exploring the
opportunity to add frequency to our current twice-weekly flight
service,” said Jeff Sun, Chairman of Hong Kong Airlines. “Since
our restructuring was completed last April, we have regained a
healthy operating track over the last year and reconnected with
the world by gradually resuming routes and opening new
destinations. We have been actively expanding our fleet and
recruiting locally and globally to meet the demands of our
business recovery and growth. Currently, our route network covers
close to 30 destinations, and the average passenger load factor
has returned to 85%.”

In the first 3 months of 2024 a total of 66,260
people had visited the Northern Mariana Islands, a considerable
increase on the 39,304 in the first three months of 2023.

For the whole of 2023, the Northern Mariana
Islands welcomed 215,543 visitor arrivals and looks to be on track to
surpass that by a strong margin.

Prior to the pandemic, visitor arrivals from China
comprised over 40% of all visitor arrivals to the Northern Mariana
Islands with multiple direct flights a week from five cities.

to The Marianas with this first direct flight between Hong Kong
and The Marianas since the pandemic, said Christopher A.

(MVA). “There is a real feeling of anticipation and optimism in
the government and especially the private sector with the launch
of these flights. We are excited about the positive bookings and
believe this bodes well for the future of these flights and the
greater expansion of connectivity with the Hong Kong Airlines
network.”
