Mini’s lineup slims down as its renewed products size up. The Clubman has been retired in favor of the forthcoming electric Aceman, and the Countryman gets supersized. The Cooper itself gets redesigned as well, with a new four-door variant, new convertible models, and a fresh but unmistakeable Mini look.
The small English brand owned by BMW finds itself in the midst of a powertrain transition to some form of electrification, as do many other automakers, and Mini revamps its digital interfaces across the lineup as well. The circular touchscreen remains the centerpiece of the interior—the only interface styled that way in the automotive industry—but Mini finally fills out the full circle with a 9.4-inch touchscreen interface in each model.
Expect a mix of powertrain options to continue, with battery electric motor options joining turbo-4 gas engines under the proverbial bonnet. Mini ditched the Hardtop designation for the two-door Cooper, but simplification ends there as Mini staggers S and SE designations based on battery pack sizes for its electric variants. An all-electric Mini Cooper for 2027 in the U.S., though tariffs against cars made in China may make Mini reconsider plans for the China-built Cooper EV.
They may also be pumping the brakes on going fully electric by the end of this decade. Here’s what’s changed for Mini’s small but strong lineup for 2025. All prices include a $995 destination fee.

The fourth-generation Cooper (or fifth gen if you include the classic Cooper from the 20th century) has been redesigned to accommodate both gas and electric powertrains, as well as 2-Door, 4-Door, and Convertible body styles. In two-door models, the hatch has only 8.9 cubic feet of space, but the 60:40 rear seats fold down to open up 30.4 cubic feet of space. Even in the base Signature, Mini equips the models well with 17-inch alloy wheels, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, navigation, a head-up display in place of an instrument cluster, driver-assist safety features, and a panoramic sunroof. Options include contrasting roof colors, power front seats, and Harman Kardon audio.

The electric model, dubbed Cooper E and Cooper SE, rides on a separate platform shared with BMW and Great Wall Motors out of China. The Cooper E has a 40.7-kwh battery and a 181-hp electric motor, with a 0-62 mph time estimated at 7.3 seconds. The Cooper SE has a 54.2-kwh battery pack and 215-hp motor with a 6.7-second 0-62 mph time. Range hasn’t been certified by the EPA but it will exceed the 114 miles of the outgoing Cooper SE. Expect about 200 miles for the 2025 Cooper SE, but it may not arrive in the U.S. until 2026. Allegedly, Mini is developing an electric John Cooper Works model.

The Cooper 4-Door returns with easier access to the back row, wider rear seats for up to three passengers, and more cargo space to 32.6 cubic feet with the 60:40 rear seats folded down, even if it has virtually the same footprint as the 2-Door hatchback. The powertrains are the same as in the other Mini Coopers but it expect it to be a tad heavier and slower. The base Cooper 4-Door arrives early next year.

The all-electric hatchback essentially takes the place of the discontinued Clubman, slotting between the smaller Cooper S that it shares a platform with and the larger redesigned Countryman. But because it’s built in China and subject to steep EV tariffs in the U.S., it might not arrive until 2026, when production switches to the U.K. That might make it a 2027 model year, but it’s unclear why Mini would sell it alongside the electric Cooper in the U.S. In other markets, for now, the Mini Aceman can be had as an Aceman E with a 42.5-kwh battery pack and a single motor rated at 181 hp, or the Aceman SE and a 54.2-kwh battery pack with a 214-hp motor.

The redesigned Mini Countryman is the roomiest and largest Mini yet, stretching 5.1 inches longer and growing 2.4 inches taller than its predecessor. Sized like the Volvo XC40, it seats five, though four fit better, and the tiered cargo floor adds secure storage, while 40:20:40 rear seats flip down to open up 51.2 cubic feet of cargo space. It can be had in base S or JCW grades with a turbo-4 and all-wheel drive, or the SE ALL4 offers a fully electric powertrain with two motors rated at 308 hp and 364 lb-ft, good for a 0-60 mph time of 5.4 seconds, making it the quickest Countryman.
