Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will be temporarily closed for six hours today, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM IST, to conduct its Annual Comprehensive Post-Monsoon Runway Maintenance. This planned maintenance is critical to ensuring safer airside operations and maintaining the airport’s global safety standards.

As part of this scheduled maintenance, both cross runways—RWY 09/27 and RWY 14/32—will be non-operational during this time. Airlines and other stakeholders were informed six months in advance to adjust their flight schedules accordingly, ensuring minimal disruption to passengers.

The runway closure aims to address essential repair and upkeep activities following the monsoon season, a routine practice that ensures the airport infrastructure remains in optimal condition for safe and efficient operations.

Passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines for any updates on flight schedules and plan their journeys accordingly. A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has also been duly issued in this regard six months in advance.

As one of the busiest single-runway airports in the world, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) prides itself for safe, secure and efficient operations, owing to carefully planned and executed runway maintenance works all through the year.
