ixigo, the wholly owned subsidiary of Le Travenues Technology Limited, has received board approval to acquire strategic stakes in two Spanish companies as part of its global expansion and technology enhancement initiatives.
The first acquisition involves a 60 per cent stake in Online Travel Solutions, S.L., which operates under the brand name Trenes. Trenes is the second-largest online train ticketing platform in Spain, serving the Spanish and select Southern European markets, with revenues of EUR5.5 million in CY25. The total consideration for this acquisition is EUR11.7 million, including non-compete fees. Following the acquisition, Trenes will become a step-down subsidiary of Le Travenues Technology Limited, with ixigo retaining the option to acquire the remaining shares in the future. Completion is expected by 31 March 2026, subject to regulatory and procedural approvals in Spain.
The second acquisition targets a 45.02 per cent stake in Squad As Service, S.L. (Sqaas), an early-stage AI-focused technology company, for EUR0.45 million. This investment aims to accelerate Sqaas’s AI software development and technological capabilities. Sqaas will become an associate company of Le Travenues Technology Limited, with ixigo holding an option to acquire additional stakes in the future. Completion is similarly expected by 31 March 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
Both acquisitions are structured as arm’s-length transactions, with no related party interests involved. ixigo will comply with all applicable Singapore laws, foreign exchange, and investment regulations in executing these transactions.
Through these strategic moves, ixigo is positioning itself to expand its product, technology, and AI leadership into the European OTA market and advance its AI-driven solutions portfolio.
